Dr. Aberger is an executive vice president for Abacus Health, responsible for product design, outcome evaluation and continuous improvement of Abacus service delivery. Dr. Aberger holds a BA in Psychology from the University of Notre Dame and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Kansas.

Dr. Andrews has been with us from the very beginning. Before Quantum Health officially launched in 1999, he played a crucial role on the research team that gained the insights the company was founded on. After the company launched, he served as Medical Director, acting as a liaison between the medical community and the Quantum Health Advisory board.

As Chief Medical Officer for Quantum Health, he is responsible for leading daily clinical operations as well as overseeing case review and Grand Rounds?cadence.

Matt Baki is Senior Vice President at Tria Health. As a leader at Tria Health for over nine years, Matt works with self-insured employers, managing over 500,000 lives, across a variety of industries. He provides chronic condition management solutions that control the rising cost of health care for high-risk members, while committing to optimize medication use for his clients.

Matt has immersed himself in the health benefits space over the past nine years and continues to bring value to his clients by improving member health outcomes, optimizing benefit strategies, and reducing the total cost of healthcare. Most recently, Matt became an Executive Member of the GTMRx Institute, a Washington-based advocacy group focused on ensuring appropriate use of medications and gene therapies.

Previous to those roles, he served as a Principal in the healthcare consulting practice at Dixon Hughes Goodman, helping to lead their Strategy Consulting business. Prior to which, he served as a leader in all versions of KPMG (KPMG Consulting/BearingPoint and KPMG). Since 2008, Leah Binder has served as President & CEO of The Leapfrog Group, an award-winning national nonprofit based in Washington, D.C., representing employers and other purchasers of health care calling for improved safety and quality in hospitals. She is a regular contributor to Forbes.com and other publications, and consistently cited among the most influential people and top women in healthcare and patient safety.

Under her leadership, The Leapfrog Group launched the Hospital Safety Grade, which assigns letter grades on the safety of general hospitals across the country. She fostered groundbreaking innovation in transparency and payment policy through the annual Leapfrog Hospital Survey, which sets high standards for hospital quality and publicly reports information available from no other source. In 2020 Leapfrog will begin rating outpatient surgery and Ambulatory Surgery Centers as well. Leapfrog’s leadership is widely credited as key to significant advances in health care delivery and health value. Analysts find that at least 40,000 lives have been saved in each of the past two years from the galvanizing focus on safety brought by the Hospital Safety Grade. Other movements sparked and spurred by Leapfrog under Leah’s leadereship include reductions in early elective deliveries and other maternity improvements, improvements in medication safety, reductions in infections, and the acceleration of health care transparency.

Leah is a frequent speaker at events across the country. Before joining Leapfrog, Leah was vice president for the nationally noted Franklin Community Health Network in Farmington, Maine; and prior to that served as senior policy advisor in the Office of Mayor Rudolph Giuliani in New York City. An initiative she assisted with in New York allowed small businesses to offer more health plan choice to their employees, and that is still in successful operation today at the Northeast Business Group on Health.

She started her career doing public policy and communications for the National League for Nursing. She has a bachelor’s in Politics from Brandeis and two master’s degrees from University of Pennsylvania, one from the Annenberg School for Communications and the other from the Fels Institute of Government. She lives near Washington, DC, with her husband, Sam, and two children, Henry, 21, and K.C., 12.

David Contorno is founder of E Powered Benefits. As a native of New York, David began his career in the insurance industry at the age of 14 and has since become a leading expert in the realm of employee benefits over the last 22 years.

David was Benefits Selling magazine’s 2015 Broker of the Year, and in March 2016, Forbes deemed him “one of America’s most innovative benefits leaders.” More recently, he received the 2017 Leadership Award at ASCEND, the annual conference of The Association for Insurance Leadership, which recognizes those whose leadership in support of improving the value and performance of employee benefits has significantly advanced the industry.

David is a member of the board of directors for both the Charlotte Association of Health Underwriters and HealthReach Community Clinic. He served on the NC Insurance Commissioners Life and Health Agent Advisory Committee, as well as participated in the Technical Advisory Group that helped with the market reforms required under the Affordable Care Act in North Carolina. He is a longtime member of the Lake Norman and South Iredell Chambers of Commerce as well as the National, North Carolina, New York, and Long Island Associations of Health Underwriters. David contributes to numerous publications, including Forbes, Benefits Selling magazine, Business Leader magazine, and Insurance Thought Leadership.

David is committed to giving back to his community and actively participates in the membership drive for the United Way, assisting the local chapter of Habitat for Humanity, and supporting The Dove House Child Advocacy Center. When he is not working, he enjoys boating and traveling.

Dr. Dickerson was born and raised in Texas. She is a graduate of Baylor University and University of Texas Medical School at Houston and was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She practiced for 13 years at the Diagnostic Clinic of Houston, where she served as a two-term president of the 50 physician clinic.

She founded?Green Imaging?to provide affordable, high-quality medical imaging for uninsured and high deductible patients in Houston and rapidly expanded the company to provide services throughout most of the US and employer-sponsored health plans. She loves providing quality services to patients who otherwise couldn’t afford it and providing significant imaging cost savings to patients with healthcare coverage and their employers without compromising quality.

Dr. Dickerson is passionate about spreading the word that patients and employers have great new nontraditional health care coverage options in the emerging alternative health care market.

Marianne Fazen is Executive Director of the DFW Business Group on Health, a coalition of DFW area employers and healthcare organizations committed to improving healthcare quality, efficiency, and accountability in North Texas. Ms. Fazen also serves as President and CEO of the Texas Business Group on Health, a statewide organization representing Texas employers’ interests regarding healthcare purchasing and policy issues.

Ms. Fazen is a frequent speaker and commentator on employer-sponsored health benefits issues. She has been recognized as a member of the Dallas 500 Business Leaders by D CEO Magazine in 2020 and 2021, and as a DFW Healthcare Leader by the Dallas Business Journal in Who’s Who in Healthcare in 2016.

Ms. Fazen currently serves as Regional Director of The Path Forward for Mental Health & Substance Use, a national initiative focused on improving access to high quality mental and behavioral healthcare, and of the Leapfrog Group, a national hospital patient safety advocacy organization. She also serves on the Board of Directors (Past President) of URAC, a national healthcare accreditation organization and previously on the Board of Governors of the National Alliance of Healthcare Purchaser Coalitions, representing 40 employer-led healthcare coalitions across the country.

Ms. Fazen has an undergraduate degree in Medical Technology from University of Wisconsin and a Doctorate in Communications Science & Human Development from University of Texas at Dallas.

Chris has been in the health care space for over 25 years and has been with Simplify Healthcare for over 3.5 years. He’s led and improved operations in a variety of areas for a very large national health plan.?Areas of accountability included benefit and provider configuration, standing up a benefit configuration shared service, claims performance improvement, membership administration, programmers and report writers, process improvement black belts, and training.?He’s played key roles in product ideation, pricing, sales optimization, and multiple claims system implementations. He’s written several articles on LinkedIn and is passionate about solving business challenges with innovative technologies.

Holly Greer is a Global Wellness Program expert who designs employee wellness programs for the award-winning Hewlett Packard Enterprise. She believes that ?wellness? is not a one-size-fits all solution and inclusive wellness programs can spark a healthy wellbeing culture. In addition to Global Wellness, she also has experience in direct-to-consumer wellness products that focus on value-based care. Outside of the office, you can find Holly running around Lady Bird Lake in Austin training for a race or chasing her daughter around at the park.

David’s career started at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee in claim’s management. He went on to serve as the Director of Operations for the State of Tennessee Employee Health Plans; Benefit Manager for Nissan Motor Manufacturing; benefits consultant; Insurance Director for Rutherford County, TN and now as Director of Benefits for Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS).

While at MNPS he established a network of primary care clinics to serve their employees, retirees and their dependents. These clinics, staffed by Family Nurse Practitioners are Medical Homes and serve as the main conduit for medical interventions with our covered population. In 2017, he opened MNPS’ first integrated health and wellness facility, combining primary care, behavioral health, health coaching, fitness, physical therapy, chiropractic, acupuncture and pharmacy. This facility also includes a cafe and conference area and is designed to be a community center for educators, assisting them to develop professionally and personally. In addition, to help drive individual and group health improvements, he implemented a data warehouse that combines medical, pharmacy, dental and vision claims, medical records, payroll, health risk assessments and evaluation data.

He serves on the board of the State and Local Government Benefit Association and of the National Association of Worksite Health Centers.

Brian Klepper is a health care analyst, commentator and entrepreneur. He is a Principal of Healthcare Performance Inc., a health care strategy and business development practice, and CEO/Principal of Worksite Health Advisors, a benefits consultancy focused on linking high performance/high impact health care organizations with purchasers. He founded and moderates a popular professional health care listserv, Healthcare Hackers, which is a discussion forum on health care high performance and value, and which has about 850 participating benefits managers, benefits advisors and innovative vendors.

An active author and speaker, Dr. Klepper has provided health care commentary to CBS Evening News, the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, and the Washington Post. He has published widely in health care trade and academic publications, and in newspapers nationally.

Brian is a regular contributor to Employee Benefits News, the Health Affairs Blog, the Health Care Blog, the Doctor Weighs In, Kevin MD and other expert health care blogs. He is a reviewer for Health Affairs and The Journal of Ambulatory Care Management.

He is an Advisor to the Lundberg Institute and to several for profit health care organizations.

In his spare time, Brian is an offshore sailor.

Jim Knutson has been Risk Manager and Human Resources Director of Aircraft Gear Corporation in Rockford, Illinois, a manufacturer of components for the aviation and auto industries, since 1989. He is responsible for all corporate risk management, compensation and benefit programs. Jim is a member of The Midwest Business Group on Health and serves on its Board. He is also active with Catalyst For Payment Reform, a member of the Business Advisory Group to the Joint Commission For the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, , and a board member and treasurer of The Healthcare Incentives Improvement Institute. Jim received his bachelors degree from Marquette University and his law degree from Northern Illinois University.

With over 20 years of extensive experience in pharmaceutical care, Dr. Jessica Lea was named CEO of Tria Health in 2010. Prior to her current position, Dr. Lea worked as a Clinical Pharmacist at regional PBM where she played an instrumental role developing clinical programming. Her background in academia and numerous pharmacy achievements continue to fuel her passion of pharmacists providing patient-centered care that results in optimal health outcomes, which was the catalyst for starting Tria Health. As a benefit for self-insured employers, Tria Health pharmacists improve the health of members with chronic condition while reducing health care costs for employers. Lea holds a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from University of Missouri-Kansas City and maintains board certification in psychiatric pharmacy. Lea graduated with her EMBA in May of 2014 from the Rockhurst University Executive MBA Program. As an innovator in healthcare, Lea has received several local recognitions including Ingram’s “40 Under 40”; the Kansas City Business Journal’s Women Who Mean Business; Next Generation Leaders and Heroes in Healthcare. Lea also has been recognized nationally by being named to the PharmaVOICE100 recognizing inspiring leaders in the life science industries.

Al wears multiple hats, and not just to cover his bald spot. He’s an author whose critically-acclaimed bestseller on outcomes measurement, Why Nobody Believes the Numbers, was named 2012 healthcare book of the year in Forbes. Cracking Health Costs: How to Cut Your Company’s Health Costs and Provide Employees Better Care, released in 2013, was also a trade bestseller. His 2014 book Surviving Workplace Wellness, co-authored with Vik Khanna, has also received accolades, with excerpts appearing in the Harvard Business Review and elsewhere.

As a consultant, he is widely acclaimed for his expertise in population health outcomes and strategy. In 2013, Al was named one of the “unsung heroes changing healthcare forever“. As a validator of outcomes, he has been able to obtain Gold Standard certification for many of his clients, and Quizzify, from Intel’s Validation Institute. He is also one of the population health field’s most-acclaimed speakers, as well as a prolific author and interviewee on outcomes economics, having been featured in almost every major lay and healthcare publication.

Before entering the population health field, Al was a partner at Bain & Company. He holds two degrees from Harvard, where he also taught economics, and his economic policy book was made into a show on the Washington, DC NPR affiliate.

Lee has advised healthcare strategy at Fortune 10 employers, insurance companies and administrators, medical associations and the Departments of Justice and Labor. He incubated and helped form two dozen health-benefit startup companies and is advancing the mission of the HTA to save lives and save billions of dollars.

Dr. Roger Moczygemba trained in family practice in the Navy and, in 2018, obtained a Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration. He has worked in Family Practice, Urgent Care, and Occupational Medicine. Since serving as the first president of the Teladoc Physicians Association, Dr. Moczygemba has been a pioneer in telemedicine from 2004 to 2013. In 2016, he consulted with Careington to develop Dialcare, a nationwide telemedicine service, and served as the medical of Dialcare until August of 2021. In 2017, Dr. Moczygemba started Direct Med Clinic, one of the first direct primary care clinics in San Antonio. In 2018, he founded the San Antonio chapter of the Free Market Medical Association, a leading chapter in the country. He also serves as a member of Congressman Chip Roy’s Healthcare Advisory Council.

Jaja Okigwe is CEO of Seattle-based First Choice Health.Serving in this role since 2018, Jaja has presidedover its renewal as a modern health benefit company.Over the course of a 25+ year career in which hehas advised companies across multiple industry sectorsand in several countries, Jaja has developed aunique perspective on the U.S. healthcare system,with a focus on simplification and appropriatetechnology.

Linda Riddell is a population health scientist, poverty educator and independent validator with 30 years’ experience in health care, public and private health insurance, and health policy. She specializes in measuring outcomes for health and wellness programs, such as coaching, behavior incentives, and novel interventions.

Linda is the founder of Health Economy, LLC, focusing on health policy and health data analysis. Her clients range from state governments to private insurers to start-up technology companies. She also serves as Vice President Strategic Initiatives for the Validation Institute, which peer reviews outcome measures for member companies.

After studying the effects of scarcity on our brains, Linda created a unique, experiential game in 2018 where players experience for themselves the brain changes that occur in poverty. Gettin’ By is meant for people whose work affects those in poverty — such as teachers, legislators, and medical care providers. After playing the game, participants learn about how poverty changes the brain and how they can take this into account in their work.

Linda has a master’s degree in health policy and management from the Edmund Muskie School of Public Service.

Janocqua Shaw is an accomplished Total Rewards Director with 20 plus years of progressive experience in Total Rewards (Health & Welfare/Retirement Benefits Administration, Compensation, Absence Management, Occupational Health, Wellness, Shared Services and Employee Recognition/Engagement. She has worked in the Healthcare, Oil & Gas, Education and Financial Services Industries. She has expertise in developing and maintaining vendor relationships, administering and designing Employee Benefits, Wellness, Recognition and Compensation programs and resolving complex issues. She also has a proven track record driving company culture and consistently achieving business goals while utilizing strong interpersonal skills to provide high quality customer service and promote company brand. Janocqua considers herself a servant leader. She has a passion for people and is unabashedly transparent about her journey to motherhood and weight loss, both of which lead her to focus on mental health and wellness. She grew up an athlete and has a degree in Kinesiology and Health from The University of Houston- Central Campus. In her spare time, she enjoys glam (doing makeup and lashes, baking, shopping and spending time with her daughters.

Dr. Chris Skisak is the Executive Director of the Houston Business Coalition on Health, a multi-stakeholder coalition dedicated to impacting the cost, quality and experience in healthcare delivery to its more than 2 million employer-sponsored lives. Dr. Skisak also serves on Board of Governors of the National Alliance of Healthcare Purchaser Coalitions representing 51 million lives and serves on its Executive Committee. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Texas Business Group on Health. Prior to HBCH he was President and Founder of Corporate Health Management Solutions, an organizational health and productivity management company which provided consulting and software to employers and their health management partners to demonstrate the value of an integrated health management strategy. Dr. Skisak had previously worked 25 years with Houston Fortune 50 energy companies in a variety of population health management positions. He is originally from Chicago and attended the University of Illinois. He received his M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of Texas School of Public Health.

Jill Watson joined Gallagher Benefit Services’ Houston office in August 2000 after serving as the Area President for Willis and holding senior leadership roles at other major brokerage firms. With other 35 years of experience in Employee Benefits, Jill continues to drive change across the entire consulting landscape.

Highly knowledgeable in the fundamentals and complexities of benefits planning, delivery and administration, Jill’s extensive expertise enables her to offer her clients innovative and comprehensive solutions while also ensuring that the exposures facing them are well-protected and insured. As Health and Welfare Practice Leader for Gallagher, Jill is responsible for driving growth through new business as well as overseeing the management of the existing clients she serves. As a Customer Success Manager at Cariloop, Alex works with HR Directors and employees of companies that Cariloop supports to connect employees with Care Coaches. She is responsible for collaborating with employers to proactively and creatively engage with employees and educate them on the support and services Cariloop provides as a caregiver support benefit that is free for them to utilize. Having worked with caregivers in previous roles, Yoss is passionate about bringing more awareness to caregiver support services and helping such a large group of people whose stories and struggles aren’t as often talked about, written in the news or shared openly. She has a Master in Social Work from New York University and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University of Missouri.
